New OC-Based Social Enterprise Incubator Wins $1M in Funding

RevHubOC, an innovative social entrepreneurship advocate operating in Orange County, scores one million dollars in funding from local foundations, including several philanthropic heavyweights.

Orange County, CA, 2019 | A local social enterprise incubator and newcomer to Orange County’s entrepreneurial scene, RevHubOC, announces it has managed to secure as much as one million dollars in funding from five strategic local partners. These partners include influential groups like the Impact Foundation, Sun Family Foundation, SAJE Foundation, Bergman Family Foundation, and Anaheim Community Foundation.

Envisioning itself as a community of investors, entrepreneurs, mentors, and partners, the company seeks to merge entrepreneurial for-profit ventures with non-profit sustainability. President and CEO Stephan Erkelens is focusing the company’s efforts on shaping the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Orange County with the intention of gaining momentum throughout the state, eventually reaching national and international scale.

“OC is an emerging sector and economic driver, spawning new jobs where potential millions are being employed to benefit society, the environment, and other valuable causes,” says Erkelens. “Local foundations, churches, corporations, universities, and the OC public sector all encourage innovation here.”

The high amount of funding obtained from these five local foundations indicates Erkelens is right. These funds are designated to foster economic growth and empowerment within the OC community and beyond, creating opportunities and drive systemic change through entrepreneurship.

A long-time innovator of the coffee industry, Erkelens co-founded RevHubOC with the support of other seasoned professionals who have a proven track record in charitable giving, business, finance, and social enterprise. Compelled by a unified vision, the group strives to create a better mechanism to fund and sustain social enterprises both at home and around the world. They intend RevHubOC to become a collaborative ecosystem of like-minded individuals where both founders and funders are able to accelerate the impact of nascent social enterprises.
