Powering the Future of Mental Health Resources
Tad Health was born out of a deeply personal experience involving helping a close friend, which underscored the pressing need for accessible and effective mental health support among young people.
Its mission is to transform mental health infrastructure by providing accessible and effective resources through a centralized platform. Initially established as a nonprofit, TadHealth pivoted to become an impact-driven corporation, developing a revenue-generating software as a service (SaaS) model ensuring financial sustainability while remaining true to its mission.
THE CHALLENGE:
Students Face Barriers to Mental Health Access While there are many mental health resources, tools, and people ready to help, finding them and getting help for students in crisis often is cumbersome and difficult to navigate. With an average of 1,211 students for every one school counselor in the United States, and with 19. 9% of high school students reported seriously considering suicide, the urgent need for accessible, effective mental health support among young people is staggering.
THE INNOVATION:
Reinventing the Mental Health Infrastructure
TadHealth’s customizable Saas platform allows school districts to expand mental health offerings beyond school walls, “working hours,” and varying levels of counselor expertise to ensure every student has access to help at their fingertips, regardless of location or time of day.
Not only are school administrators able to deliver and coordinate resources instantly and at scale, but they are also able to leverage Tad Health’s data analytics to evaluate and deploy right-fit resources for their students. The immediate need for better mental health support makes Tad Health’s mission timely and critical in the broader context of mental health equity, particularly for low-income and underrepresented children who are disproportionately affected by the current barriers to quality mental health. These young people have the most to gain by having access to Tad Health’s platform, which can drastically reduce the incidents of abuse, neglect, and self-harm among underserved populations.
