RevHubOC, an innovative social entrepreneurship advocate operating in Orange County, succeeds in raising its first million dollars to build and sustain social venture efforts.
Irvine, CA, December 2022 | Local social enterprise incubator RevHubOC announces it has managed to secure its first one million dollars in fundraising. The funds have been allocated to foster economic growth and empowerment within the OC community and beyond, creating opportunities and drive systemic change through entrepreneurship.
A community of investors, entrepreneurs, mentors, and partners, RevHubOC seeks to merge entrepreneurial for-profit ventures with non-profit sustainability. President and CEO Stephan Erkelens is focusing the company’s efforts on shaping the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Orange County with the intention of gaining momentum throughout the state, eventually reaching national and international scale.
“OC is an emerging sector and economic driver, spawning new jobs where potential millions are being employed to benefit society, the environment, and other valuable causes,” says Erkelens. “Local foundations, churches, corporations, universities, and the OC public sector all encourage innovation here.”
The high amount of funds raised by RevHubOC indicates Erkelens is right. In June, a former fundraising director for UCI, Julie Cranson, was appointed leader of RevHubOC’s fundraising efforts and RevFund I, Orange County’s first social innovation fund. Cranston’s efforts have contributed to RevHubOC’s recent fundraising success.
A long-time innovator of the coffee industry, Erkelens co-founded RevHubOC with the support of other seasoned professionals who have a proven track record in charitable giving, business, finance, and social enterprise. Compelled by a unified vision, the group strives to create a better mechanism to fund and sustain social enterprises both at home and around the world. Under their guidance, RevHubOC has become a collaborative ecosystem of like-minded individuals where both founders and funders are able to accelerate the impact of nascent social enterprises.
